About the Artist

He began his artistic studies in 1938, at the Estudio Libre, created by Eduardo Abela, and simultaneously studied at the school attached to San Alejandro, an institution where he became a student shortly after. In 1945 he finished his studies, with the best record in all subjects in each of the 6 years of studies, for which he was granted a travel grant to continue his studies in the United States, where he studied engraving and already in 1947, the success achieved in this country is made known. His artistic activity encompassed sculpture, painting, engraving, pedagogy and art criticism. He made paintings and mural engravings. He studied all the isms and learned from Pablo Picasso, Giorgione and Vittore Carpaccio, among others, but above these influences his own style prevailed. The symbolism. In his painting, the influence of Carpaccio is important in the use of the method of painting with color glazes, which he used until his death on August 10, 1990.
